"When I paint water lilies, it's impossible not to think of Claude Monet.  This painting, however, also combines my imagination with memories of other water lily ponds that I have enjoyed in Japan, Hawai'i, and California, as well as those at his Giverny garden. I used a variety of techniques with palette knives, brushes, and other tools to create a range of textures in this painting."
